Medicine, Science and the Law The Royal Society of Medicine Press and The British Academy of Forensic Sciences are pleased to announce that the full text of Medicine, Science and the Law is available onlineMedicine, Science and the Law is the official journal of The British Academy of Forensic Sciences. Medicine, Science and the Law is dedicated to advancing the knowledge of forensic science and medicine, through a variety of authoritative research articles.
This quarterly journal contains original papers of interest to lawyers, doctors and scientists. Included in addition are book reviews, letters to the editor, abstracts of recent relevant reports and other material of interest to members of the Academy and others concerned with its objects. With a global circulation, Medicine Science and the Law includes articles submitted from all parts of the world on a range of topical medico-legal issues. The 2008 Impact Factor (published annually by Thomson Scientific in its Journal Citation Reports) for Medicine, Science and the Law is 0.467.
Medicine, Science and the Law Online contains the full content of each issue of the journal in PDF format beginning with the January 2000 issue (Volume 40, Issue 1). From 2010 onwards content will also be published in full-text HTML. The full text is searchable by keyword, and the cited references include hyperlinks to Medline and to the online full text of many other frequently-cited journals.
Each issue will be placed online approximately on the date it is mailed to subscribers; therefore the online site will be available prior to receipt of your paper copy. Online readers may want to sign up for the eTOC (electronic Table of Contents) service, which will deliver each new issue's table of contents via email. The web site also provides access to information about the journal (such as Instructions to Authors, the Editorial Board, and subscription information), as well as access to the Society website.
Access to the full text of articles will be available by institutional license, which comes with all institutional subscriptions, or by individual subscription. All other access (e.g., to Abstracts, eTOCs, searching, Instructions to Authors) will remain freely available.
